World Breastfeeding Week 2024 x iL Tutto

Although World Breastfeeding Week 2024 happens in the first week of August, we’re dedicating the entire month to celebrating and showing support for feeding parents. It’s a complex topic that we think is deserving of more focus and attention.

As we launch into our breastfeeding week/month, here’s the lowdown of what you can expect.

What is World Breastfeeding Week?

It started in 1992 and World Breastfeeding Week has since grown into a global event aimed at educating and empowering parents, healthcare providers, policy makers and communities.

World Breastfeeding Week is a time to celebrate and support mothers around the globe. It's a week dedicated to raising awareness, providing education and fostering a community of support. Whether you're a new mother, a healthcare provider or a breastfeeding advocate, this week is an opportunity to come together.

Always held during the first week of August, each year the week has a different theme. The theme of World Breastfeeding Week 2024 is “Closing the Gap: Breastfeeding Support for All”. This is about raising awareness of the inequalities that prevent breastfeeding, such as the availability of breastfeeding help and support, particularly in vulnerable groups. The theme recognises breastfeeding as an equaliser to close gaps in our society and remove barriers to sustainable development.

We’re here to support you

We’re a team of parents and understand both the joys and the challenges that come with feeding. We know that it’s not a positive experience for every mother. And we absolutely support every parent to make the right decisions for themselves and their families, breastfeeding or otherwise.

We know that one of the most important aspects of a successful feeding journey is having a comfortable place to feed your baby. We pour that knowledge and understanding into every chair we design, ensuring you have the right foundation of support as you embark on your parenting journey.

Our nursery chairs are crafted to provide the ultimate in comfort and support. The ergonomic design includes lumbar support, high backrests to support your neck and shoulders and armrests at just the right height for feeding. The spring-loaded and electric recline options also allow you to recline and sit up without using your abdominals – so important for postpartum bodies! Not to mention the gentle gliding motion that helps you to settle your baby with ease after every feed.

It’s not just comfort that we’ve considered in the design of our chairs. They’re also packed with practical features to make your life easier while feeding. Features like generous storage pockets in the Frankie Electric Recliner Glider to keep your burp cloths or a book for your toddler within arm’s reach. Or the USB charging ports you’ll find in many of our chairs, including the Louie Electric Recliner Glider.

Our STANDARD 100 by oeko-tex fabrics are also easy to care for, because we know breastfeeding and life with babies in general can get messy. From our luxe teddy and bouclé fabrics to our other premium fabrics, they’re all highly durable and selected to be soft and comfortable for hours of breastfeeding. Order a set of fabric swatches to see for yourself!

What to expect from breastfeeding week 2024

Over the course of breastfeeding week 2024 – or in our case, feeding month – you’ll likely see lots of events and activities popping up. At iL Tutto, we also have plans to celebrate feeding and how we support all parents.

We’ll be sharing stories of some of our customers, and how they’ve navigated feeding along the highs and lows of their own parenthood journeys. We shared similar breastfeeding stories last year and the feedback was that you wanted more!
